Language Mentoring for Personal and Professional Development
If you want to communicate with more clarity, confidence, and presence, this is for you. We work on real conversations from your life and work. We also work on the mindset and habits that make progress sustainable.
Language is the tool. Growth is the goal.
Who this is for
Professionals using English in meetings, emails, presentations, and leadership conversations
Language learners who want real-world fluency, not textbook performance
People navigating change who want stronger communication and a steadier mindset
Teams who want practical communication training grounded in real tasks
What we do together
I work with individuals and teams to build real-world language and communication skills using task-based learning, tailored materials built from scratch, and guided practice that matches your context. When useful, we also use visual thinking and structured facilitation to clarify ideas and make decisions faster.
1 to 1 individual coaching focusing on accelerating individual growth, overcoming specific challenges, and improving performance.
50-minute sessions as part of a monthly package (each session is tailored, confidential, and focused on your priorities.)

- A guided journaling exercise to apply ideas directly to your life
- Optional audio support for learning on the move
WhatsApp access between sessions
Stay connected between sessions for timely support. Ask questions, share insights, and get accountability when real situations come up
How I mentor
Alongside language mentoring, we use a few Stoic mentoring frameworks to give our work structure and help you build steady progress over time. Think of these as simple maps we return to when things feel messy or unclear.

The Three Disciplines
Desire → Judgment → Action
A practical way to work with the three places where most inner struggle begins: what you want, the stories you tell yourself, and how you respond.
- Framework 1

The Inner Compass
Know → Align → Follow
A way to retrain instinct into a reliable guide: notice your patterns, align with what is steady, then act with clarity instead of doubt.
- Framework 2
What you’ll gain
Clarity and self-awareness so you can communicate with intention
Emotional resilience to respond under pressure with calm and control
Stronger leadership communication rooted in purpose, not reactivity
Better relationships through better listening, clearer boundaries, and more thoughtful dialogue
How to get started
We begin your first month with a clear focus, a simple plan, and momentum.

I’ve had the good fortune to have been interviewed twice by Leo and his team for the Teacher Talking Time podcast site, and each time the experience has been both pleasurable and instructive. Leo really does his homework, and his questions and comments are not only well-informed but inflected with his particular brand of wry humor. I look forward to future collaborations!

Crossing paths with Leo has been transformative for me, both professionally and personally. Despite years of experience, I still struggled with engaging students and creating meaningful lessons—until I took his courses and mentoring. Through Listening Made Easy, TBL and Dogme, and the New Teaching Agility Workshop, I gained practical strategies that helped me foster more engaging and effective learning experiences. As a result, my students became more engaged, and I was able to retain them because they found the lessons truly valuable.

Leo is almost certainly one of the most dynamic TESOL (ELT) professionals in Ontario. He’s passionate about the field and, through his reading and in-depth interviews of the foremost academics in the field, he’s built up a wealth of expertise in TESOL theory and practice. Beyond English Language Teaching, Leo is an erudite and thoughtful person, who is lit up by the world of ideas, and Stoicism in particular . I highly recommend him as both a language educator and a business/leadership coach.

Leo Gomez is one of the brightest and most dedicated English language teaching professionals I have had the pleasure of collaborating with. He combines exceptional teaching expertise with a genuine passion for evidence-based language instruction and research into second language development. His warm and positive personality, along with his ability to make research accessible and practical for teachers, makes him an invaluable educator and mentor. Leo’s work consistently inspires and empowers those he works with, and he is a true asset to the field of language education.”
Prof Dr Marije Michel
Leo Gomes is a superbly organized, imaginative, and clear thinker with an outstanding appreciation of innovative and successful teaching methodologies. His students consistently spoke in glowing terms of his teaching and mentorship, praising the support he provided to help them gain autonomy in their learning and confidence in their performance. A multi-lingual teacher and enthusiastic researcher, Leo is an excellent team player and effective communicator, liked by his peers and adored by his students.

In all the time I have known him, Leo has never ceased to amaze me with his continuing search for deeper knowledge and a better understanding of ELT. At the root of this quest, is his dedication to providing the most engaging and effective way of improving his students’ linguistic and academic ability. He is one of those all-too-rare language instructors who has both the capacity to reach a deep critical analysis of his own teaching methodology and the extensive methodological knowledge to make adjustments to provide a better and better learning experience for his students.
